these idyllic sheets

for but a moment I can drown in your eyes, soaking in a gaze that speaks depth, understanding

for but a moment we lay entangled by the unknown and the remembrance of rooftops grazed with peaceful night winds and the glimmer of starlight

for but a moment to know that you are close not only in spirit but in the flesh— our bodies intertwined in slightest intoxication, though really it was your voice and not the wine—

gives me peace to savor these idyllic sheets.
